Blogging with a Purpose - 1st Award Post
August 4th, 2007
Don’t you just love getting an award? It is pretty fun to receive any kind of award, but it is even more fun to receive an award that means something. Back in April I started an award called The Blogging with a Purpose Award. It took it about three months to get back around to me. Yesterday a newer friend of mine awarded me the Blogging with a Purpose Award, not even knowing that I originated it! I talked with her about the award, wondering if I should post it or not. She told me that I should because a lot of people don’t know that I started the award. I have made an updated award banner and rewritten the rules. I also will choose five new bloggers for the award.
Who I am Awarding
I have decided to award some people outside of my circle. Some of these people I don’t know very well, but I know that they deserve the award. They may accept it or turn it down.
TOSPublisher is a amazing blogger. Not only has she started Homeschoolblogger.com, but also she is the publisher of The Old Schoolhouse
Magazine. Her magazine and her blog have put homeschooling in a positive light nationwide. It’s impossible to say her blog does not have a purpose. Gena’s purpose is to show people that they can help their children grow in the Lord, while learning at home. Her theme is “Home Where They Belong!”
Agent Tim’s purposeful blogging goes a long way back. He started influencing people to a higher calling in 2005 when HSB came online. He has been blogging ever since. Tim truly does have a purpose. He defends Christianity and homeschooling. He speaks out against profanity, myspace, alcohol and many other highly controversial subjects. Tim’s name means “honored by God,” and his purpose for blogging is to honor God.
Quiet Cajun’s blog was recommended to me. I checked her blog out, and I am pleased to say it qualifies for the award. Quiet Cajun started blogging late in 2005. She has been faithfully writing ever since then. The purpose of her blog is to bring faith into every aspect of homeschooling by sharing what God is doing through her everyday life experiences.
The Rebelution is an amazing ministry. Alex and Brett are doing a fantastic job of bringing teens to their senses. They are insighting a teenage rebellion against the low expectations of an ungodly culture. The purpose of their blog is to bring this message to as many teens as possible.
Melanie is a newer blogger. She started blogging late in 2006 and she has definitely dedicated her blog and her life to the Lord. Melanie’s profile says that she isn’t a deep thinker, but in my opinion she should change that. Christ shines strongly through her blogging. Her purpose for blogging is to serve Him.
